A sketch pad with wire-frames for a website design

UI/UX Website Design

Here at Nojo Media we design engaging user friendly user experiences, with that in mind we think getting both the 'user interface' & 'user experience' spot on.

UI design encompases everything the website visitor sees, from the way the menu / navigation is positioned and designed in terms of colour and funtionality, how the page contents have been laid out to how easy the page is to navigate to the content they want. Where as UX design covers website functionality and how easily the user can interact with it's features.

The Design Process

We start the UI design process of designing client websites, by firstly brain-storming creative ideas for possible layouts using wire-frames plus we may also sketch ideas down on paper. Wire-framing helps get ideas down quickly without using up valuable time developing websites in code. It helps lay out web pages in terms of where features and navigation works best for the particular project.

Examples of Wire-framing

See below for wire-frames we produced for the redesign of golf course website, showing the progression from initial wire-frame, through to the use of colour and imagery and comparing those to a UI design later developed in Adobe Photoshop:

Initial wire-frame using only lines, feature boxes and menus.

Developing the wire-frame with imagery and colour.

UI design created in Photoshop, ready for the client.
